Transporting aloved one is often one of the biggest issues for caregivers. Whether it is time lost from work, getting informaiton about how to safely and accessibly use theri own vehicle or finding community resources with people they trust to provide transportation, there is a great need for more information targeted at caregivers.
Often access to an accessible vehicle is one of the first barriers. Programs that offer support and provide opportunities for veterans or service members with disabilities to purchase an accessible vehicle or make modifications to their own vehicle can help increase independence to veterans and offer support for family members. Family, friends and paid care givers play an important role in supporting veterans and wounded warriors - and transportaiton is a service provided by many caregivers.
